Black and White ~ All Right!

It is bold, it is dramatic, it is a classic color combination.
It is an assault on the senses, a dance between the positive and negative space.
The visual impact packs a punch!
On your body, on your walls, as an accent ~ It is never boring and always makes a statement.
The only question is, what kind of statement do you want to make?

Making a DIFFArence ~ part 2

via Decor Arts Now

My friend Dwayne Clark of  ClarkGaynor  created this meaningful and dramatic entrance to DIFFA and the eye candy that awaits.  It represents the light at the end of the tunnel after a long battle with AIDS.  It draws you in and the mirrored bulbs represent reflection: thought provoking.

A nod to Kinky Boots, coming to broadway ~ the laced corset design element looks as good wrapped around the napkins as it does on the walls.

Why do a tabletop when you can do a whole lounge area.  Signature pieces and an easy American aesthetic is what defines Thom Filicia's style.  I could have jumped right in and sat down.

Echo Design reminded us it was spring using silk scarves and light boxes.  Butterflies and bugs looked as if they jumped right off of the walls

Making a DIFFArence ~ part 1

NYSID and Marc Blackwell

Every year I am able to get a sneak peek at the DIFFA  event held in conjunction with the Architectural Digest Home Show.   It's always a source of inspiration because the level of creativity is AMAZING.

You can always count on Ralph Lauren to bring something warm and inspirational to the party.   The subtle sound of the water from the water wall would be quite nice in the background of a dinner party.

Parsons The New School with mentor 2Michaels ~ The things you can do with paper

Rotette Studio ~ It's like dining in a decorative tunnel, love the wavy plates.

Barry Dixon for Arteriors ~ I am an admirer of everything Barry

Rachel Laxer and Robert Kuo ~ made me think of Marie Antoinette falling thru the rabbit hole

David Stark for Benjamin Moore ~ it is like living inside a paint can, wowza

Marc Blackwell New York ~ Hanging plates on a wall makes designing a breeze

so does displaying fruit ~ The New York Times designed by Frette. Hmmm..

The fun continues, more inspiration in my next installment ~
