Room with a View

The art of the bath has been resurrected at casa Leskowitz.  As I am exploring mindfulness and meditation, I am finding new ways to relax and restore inner peace.  Designing and training to be a life coach is no simple tasks!  A bath is such a lovely way to unwind and just "be."   With the kids gone and a somewhat slower pace to life right now I am really enjoying "me time."

But, the mind wanders (or is it just me) ~ as I gaze at the ceramic tile that seems outdated a faucet that feels uninspiring and a room with no view to speak of, I yearn….  For this….

SERIOUSLY….??

any of these, I'm not picky

From city to country, lakeside to beachside to mountainside , from sea to shining sea ~ Who wouldn't be enamored with taking a fabulous bath, drawn in a fabulous tub located in a fabulous bathroom with a fabulous view??

You heard of arm chair traveling, I will be tub traveling.  So, let it snow, let the winds blow ~ I will be in soaking in a warm bath calling upon my rich imagination to conjure up far off places. Technically, I don't think I am quieting my mind, but I do feel less stressed about it.

Clever Idea # 9:It's a sink, it's a shower

… wait, it's both.  Put aside the fact for a moment that this gorgeous bathroom is sheathed in aztec red stone native to Mexico or that the view from anywhere including the shower is to die for ~ what I am fascinated by is the shaving sink in the shower, carved from a single piece of stone.  That's a great way to muti-task!  And a good way to begin your day!

Clever Idea #4 ~ The Mirror Mate

I have been in so many tract houses that all have that same standard, unframed mirror over the sink in the powder and bathrooms.  In an effort to frame it quickly and easily, the Mirror Mate was born.

No more unfinished lackluster vanity mirrors ~ Give them definition, character, a sense of place.

Before, It's nice, but it could be better!  Look familiar ~

After,  the weight of the frame creates interest, a tableau, if you will; like an exclamation point!

You can get creative.  I like how the homeowners framed this mirrored wall.

Before ~ Again, good but not great

After ~ You've created a  focal point

Such an easy DIY project, anyone can do it!
