My Aspen Love Affair...1 in a series

My thoughts now turn to Aspen and my ongoing love of the town; it's history, it's aesthetic, essentially all things related to it.  I wanted to do a post on rammed earth homes, and I will, next time, because the most famous rammed earth home in the Roaring Fork Valley is for sale for a mere $10.8 mil.  And by the most famous, I mean, the only one.

  This 3 time award winning modern home was designed by Studio B Architects and decorated by Larry Laslo.  It features zinc roofing atop the rammed earth structure, Japanese Zen gardens, eco fireplaces and gorgeous views.  It was featured in Elle Decor as well as several other magazines; (insert heavy sigh)

Zoning required it to be, "low in structure" so the ranch home visually blends right into its surroundings

As Luck Would Have It...

2011 is the YEAR OF THE RABBIT ~ a lucky sign;  a time for introspection, catching your breath, "getting your house in order"

The Chinese calendar starts the new year on the 2nd moon after the winter solstice.  It has been this way for  more the 2,000 years.  Twelve animals are represented and then repeated.
I was born in the year of the ox, which explains a lot!

A Color for All Seasons

Honeysuckle is a courageous, confident, vibrant color.  A brave new color for a new year.  Let it lift you, infuse you with optimism and vigor.  Honeysuckle is guaranteed to produce a healthy glow when worn or surrounds you in a room.  It definitely adds flair and drama to an interior space.  Too much drama for you, you say?  Use it as an accessory amongst a monochromatic color scheme.  Honeysuckle works with any neutral, mossy to muddy green, or the blue family to create a sophisticated combination.

Honeysuckle is strong but wearable.  It's nostalgic, but also forward thinking!  Use a lot or use a little, it's a simple way to incorporate happiness into your life and who doesn't want a little more happiness?  Personally, I feel a shopping trip coming on!
